My inspiration for photography started during childhood as I frequently found myself the subject of my dad’s photos, and soon wanted to learn how to take pictures myself, especially with all of the traveling I did with my parents. So my dad lent me his 1970s model Nikormat camera and taught me what I needed to know to begin the unbounded process of becoming a photographer.

I enjoy travel and event photography, as well as taking pictures of various subjects such as plants and animals. But what I am particularly drawn to are people. In addition to taking art and photography classes, I studied interpersonal and family communication throughout undergraduate and graduate school, quickly finding myself wanting to capture the human essence with my camera. My inspiration, creativity, and motivation for capturing priceless moments originate from my adoring husband, our beloved baby boy, and our two relentlessly entertaining dogs.
